Part 1: The Program

Download a program:

IE: Click link for the program you wish to download
When the box appears asking where to save it, click the Save in: drop-down arrow, select 'Local Disk C:'
Double click 'Allow Install' folder
Click Save

Right click 'Start' button, Left click 'Open Windows Explorer'
Click 'Computer' (you may need to click the arrow next to this to expand it)
Click 'Local Disk (C:)' (you may need to click the arrow next to this to expand it)
You should now see the 'Allow Install' folder on the right.  Double click the folder to open it.
Double click on the file you just downloaded to install it.

Firefox/Chrome:  Click link for the program you wish to download
It will likely download to your 'Downloads' folder. (You may have set this to another save location, so you would go there instead).
Right click 'Start' button, Left click 'Open Windows Explorer', Click on 'Downloads' folder (or go to your save location), right click on the file you downloaded, left click 'Copy'

Then Click 'Computer' (you may need to click the arrow next to this to expand it)
Click 'Local Disk (C:)' (you may need to click the arrow next to this to expand it)
You should now see the 'Allow Install' folder on the right.  Double click the folder to open it.
In a blank spot on the right side of the window, Right click, Left click 'Paste'
Double click on the file you just pasted to install it.

Installing a program from a flash drive:

Right click 'Start' button, Left click 'Open Windows Explorer'
Click 'Computer' (you may need to click the arrow next to this to expand it)
Click on flash drive, Right click file (on right), Left click 'Copy'
Click 'Local Disk (C:)'
You should now see the 'Allow Install' folder on the right.  Double click the folder to open it.
In a blank spot on the right side of the window, Right click, Left click 'Paste'
Double click on the file you pasted to install it.

Installing a program from a CD/DVD:

Right click 'Start' button, Left click 'Open Windows Explorer'
Click 'Computer' (you may need to click the arrow next to this to expand it)
Right click on CD/DVD drive, Left click 'Copy'
Click 'Local Disk (C:)'
You should now see the 'Allow Install' folder on the right.  Double click the folder to open it.
In a blank spot on the right side of the window, Right click, Left click 'New', then 'Folder'.
Name the folder what the program is (or what makes sense to you).
Double click the folder to open it.
In a blank spot on the right side of the window, Right click, Left click 'Paste'
Once copied (it will likely take a few minutes to complete copying), double click on the executable (often named 'setup.exe')

Part 2: The Install

Installation justification window will pop up:
Justification: enter the reason for software install (ex: software for textbook)
Password: enter your Network password...the one you enter after hitting Ctrl - Alt - Del in the morning.
Click OK
Be patient after clicking OK, it can sometimes take a full minute for the window to go away

Install as normal (normally click 'Run' a couple of times, then 'Next' etc through the install).
If you encounter an error, please send a screen shot (Press 'PrtScn' on keyboard, open Word and paste) and a link to the software to helpdesk@delhi.edu
If an error is encountered you will need to contact the Service Center/Help Desk. We will likely able to install it remotely for you if you are on campus, or we'll have you bring it to our office for installation.
